March is celebrated as "National Women's History Month". It was established by a Presidential Proclamation to acknowledge women's contributions to the economy, politics, and social development. Since 1910, March 8th is annually observed as "International Women's Day" which began when female (textile) workers went on strike for equal rights. This year's "National Women's History Month" campaign is "Celebrating women who tell our stories". For more information about women's history month, please visit the following web pages: |
