National GWIS Presidential Recognition award recipients

These awards recognizes members who have made outstanding service contributions to GWIS.

Lead Award

The Lead Award recognizes outgoing or continuing GWIS leaders whose sustained service has significantly strengthened the organization.

EMPOWER Award 

The Empower Award recognizes significant contributions to mentoring, career development, leadership training, networking, and professional growth opportunities for GWIS members, students, early-career scientists, or women in science.

CONNECT Award 

The Connect Award recognizes members whose current-year leadership, initiative, or service has meaningfully strengthened connection, communication, outreach, or member engagement within GWIS.

CHAPTER LEADERSHIP Award

The Chapter Leadership Award recognizes outstanding chapter-level leadership that advances the GWIS mission through programming, mentorship, member engagement, scientific community-building, chapter sustainability, or connection between local chapters and National GWIS.

CHAPTER EXCELLENCE Award 

The Chapter Excellence Award recognizes a GWIS chapter that has demonstrated outstanding achievement in advancing the GWIS mission through programming, mentorship, member engagement, scientific community-building, outreach, chapter sustainability, or collaboration with National GWIS.
