GWIS Honorary Membership Awards Committee (HMAC) Volunteer Applications |
|
GWIS's honorary membership awards committee (HMAC) is seeking applications from volunteers to join their team for the year 2023-25 to help with the following not necessarily all of the tasks below: - Help review nominations and select honorary members based on criteria such as scientific achievements, mentoring, and promotion of women in science.
- Contact nominees to notify them of their selection and invite them to accept the honor.
- Promote the honorary membership program and solicit nominations.
- Create emails, posts, posters, infographics, etc. as and when needed to communicate with GWIS officers (such as the media team, website development officers, etc.), and award applicants
- Attend committee meetings regularly and be sincere in the tasks assigned to you. As mentioned, it is a volunteering position - please apply only if you think you can provide a time commitment of 3-4 hours per month (roughly).
PS: While the preferred duration of the office is 2 years (2023-25), it is equally fine if you cannot hold the position for two consecutive years.
If you are interested in serving on the HMAC please fill this Google Form by September 30th, 2023, 11:59 PM. We will interview the applicants on a rolling basis. We hope you will consider lending your time and talents to this important GWIS initiative! |

This is such a wonderful cause and we really hope this encourages more individuals who are a minority in science to participate in and share their science. Yes! we C.A.N! |
