Join the 2024-2025 National Fellowship Program!
GWIS National Fellowship Program invites you to serve on the committee for the 2024-2025 fellowship competition. The committee plays a critical role in advancing the fellowship program’s goal to recognize emerging women scholars with great potential and to advance the participation of women in STEM, Life Science, and related Social Science fields. This is a great opportunity to hone leadership skills, expand professional networks, advance the mission of GWIS, and gain practical experience as a grant administrator. If you are interested in participating, please complete the following interest form. Fellowship committee members and reviewers may not be 2024-2025 fellowship applicants.
We are pleased to welcome researchers to apply for the 2024-2025 GWIS National Fellowship Program. Graduate students, postdocs, and early career faculty women conducting hypothesis-driven research anywhere in the world are welcome to apply. Applications are due on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm Eastern Time.

GWIS Elective Offices Nominations |
|
Call for Nominations! The Nominating Committee of Graduate Women in Science invites all members to participate in nominating candidates for elective offices. This may be done individually or collectively through the chapter in which you hold membership. Do not overlook nominating yourself. The Nominating Committee is interested in receiving the names of everyone who is interested in serving in a national office. Each local chapter and each of the three Chapter At-Large delegates receive nomination forms and nominee’s consent forms in the fall. Individual members can obtain such forms by request to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, from their local chapter, or from GWIS.org. The ballot, along with brief biographies of the chosen nominees, will be printed in the May & June issues of GWIS News Media. To meet the GWIS News Media deadlines, the Nominating Committee requests receipt of completed nomination forms by mid-April. Nominees are needed for the following national offices: President-Elect Serves one year and automatically advances to President
Vice-President Serves one year and advances by election to President-Elect
Treasurer Elected for a two-year term
Recording & Corresponding Secretary Elected for a two-year term
Member of the Board of Directors Serves a five-year term and is usually a past officer of national GWIS
At-Large Delegate Serves a three year-term with third year as chair
Member of the Membership Committee Serves a three year-term with third year as chair
Member of the Nominating Committee Serves a three year-term with third year as chair
Nominees must be in good standing (dues paid) and must subscribe to the objectives of the organization. Thank you for helping to create a stronger national organization of GWIS. Please return nominations and acceptance of candidacy forms to the Nominating Committee Chair. |

The GWIS LA Chapter is hosted a fun night of festive cheer and inspiration at “Shine Bright: A Holiday Celebration for Women in STEM” 🌟🔬 with free food, peer networking, and a multicultural and insightful discussion on science and engineering! 🌟Dasha Mazura is a dynamic SWE-LA Liaison with a rich background in Chemistry & Technology; Simran Saxena is a specialist in cellular and wireless networks with a fresh Master’s from USC; Ami Shah, an innovative CEO of SVAA Labs with a mission to empower through STEAM; Konnie Urbaniak, postdoctoral fellow combining biochemistry and bioinformatics for breakthrough research; and David Xiao, is leveraging his experience at Rolls-Royce to pivot to the space industry.
