Save the Date! The 2024 GWIS National Meeting will be June 7th-9th in Syracuse, NY! Stay tuned for more details. |

This spring, we are reading Scientific Papers Made Easy by Stuart West and Lindsay Turnbull. The book is available online https://academic.oup.com/book/45619. We've already met once, but you are welcome to join for the remaining two discussions on Monday April 8th and Monday May 6th. Please email cole@gwis.org if you'd like to be added to the event invites. Next meeting: Monday April 8th: Chapters 5, 6, and 7 Final meeting: Monday May 6th: Chapters 8, 9, 10, 11

GWIS Elective Offices Nominations |
|
Nominations are due soon! The Nominating Committee of Graduate Women in Science invites all members to participate in nominating candidates for elective offices; do not overlook yourself as a nominee! Nominations may be done individually or collectively through the chapter in which you hold membership. GWIS is interested in receiving the names of everyone who is interested in serving in a national office. Nomination and nominee's consent forms can be obtained by request to the Chair of the Nominating Committee, from their local chapter, or from GWIS.org. These forms will be reviewed by delegates of all local chapters and the three Chapters At-Large in the fall.
The Nominating Committee requests receipt of completed nomination forms for the following national offices by mid-April: President-Elect Serves one year and automatically advances to President
Vice-President Serves one year and advances by election to President-Elect
Treasurer Elected for a two-year term
Member of the Board of Directors Serves a five-year term and is usually a past officer of national GWIS
At-Large Delegate Serves a three year-term with third year as chair
Member of the Membership Committee Serves a three year-term with third year as chair
Member of the Nominating Committee Serves a three year-term with third year as chair
Nominees must be in good standing (dues paid) and must subscribe to the objectives of the organization. Thank you for helping to create a stronger national organization of GWIS. Please return nominations and acceptance of candidacy forms to the Nominating Committee Chair.
