GWIS National Conference 2024 - Looking back
GWIS members attended the 2024 National Conference in Syracuse, NY from June 7-9. Attendees heard about "The quality of science depends on your wellbeing", listened to diverse panelists, got hands on experience
in workshops, had interesting discussions about their research and a fun time connecting with fellow GWIS members from across the country. Attend the 2025 National Conference in St. Louis to experience
this great event!
GWIS National Council Meeting(s)
The 4th quarter meeting of the GWIS National Council was held during the 2024 National Conference in Syracuse. Interested in the meeting minutes? Read them here. One important action item that was discussed is setting specific goals in 2024-25. The
president elect, vice-president, chairs, committees and chapters are encouraged to set one overarching goal for the year, and four smaller goals for each quarter. The goals will be shared among GWIS
to empower and hold each other accountable!
On Friday, August 30 2024, GWIS members met for a Chapter and Leadership Orientation discussing the overall mission of GWIS and the chapters' responsibility within the organization. GWIS chapters are
encouraged to utilize the various resources, including the slides for the recent Chapter and Leadership Orientation,
on the GWIS Google Drive.
The Program Committee of Graduate Women in Science is in search of members. For example, do you believe mentoring is useful in science and want to organize mentoring webinars for the GWIS community? There
is a committee position for you. For all positions, National Committee members must be in good standing (dues paid) and must subscribe to the objectives of the organization. Thank you for helping
to create a stronger national organization of GWIS!
