2025 GWIS Fellowship Application Advice Webinar

Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 GWIS National Fellowship Program. Applicants are encouraged to prepare materials early ahead of the January 12, 2026 deadline. To support applicants, GWIS is hosting a Fellowships Application Advice Webinar on Friday, November 21, 2025. The session will feature GWIS Fellowship Committee leaders, Dr. Zoe Hansen (Co-Coordinator) and Dr. Aubrey Jeffries (Program Officer), who will walk attendees through the application process, key evaluation criteria, and common pitfalls to avoid. The webinar will also include insights from previous fellowship awardees, including Dr. Asma Fallah, Tolulope R. Kolapo, and Christine O’Sullivan. Members across time zones are welcome, with live access provided from 9:00 AM PST / 11:00 AM CST / 12:00 PM ET. Scan the QR code to register
 
The 2026 GWIS National Conference: More details will be available soon

Looking ahead, the 2026 GWIS National Conference is scheduled for June 11–13, 2026, in Rapid City, South Dakota. This annual gathering will bring together scientists, students, and leaders from across STEM for workshops, networking, and community-building sessions in the scenic Black Hills region. Further details will be announced soon.
 
GWIS Opens Nominations for the 2026 Honorary Membership Awards

GWIS is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Honorary Membership Awards, celebrating outstanding women scientists whose achievements exemplify excellence across research, education, and scientific communication. This prestigious recognition includes four award categories: the Bette Barnes Promising Young Scientist Award, the Florence R. Sabin Research Excellence Award, the Jean E. Simmons Science Education Excellence Award, and the Science Communications Award. Members are encouraged to nominate colleagues, mentors, or emerging leaders who have demonstrated exceptional impact in their fields.
